2012 (2009), Roland Emmerich

Genre: Action, Drama, Science Fiction
Overall Rating:
(out of 5)
I don't know if I was just having an off day or something, but this movie was pretty stupid. There were a few "haha" moments, but the "tragic" moments didn't make you feel any real tragedy at all. It was a movie filled with explosions, ground breaking apart, etc. Not worth seeing.

The Story:

1 Point: OMGZ
Its the end of the world, and instead of trying to prevent it, people are trying to further the human race.

Characters:

Jackson Curtis (John Cusack): A divorced writer who tries to protect his kids from the end of the world.

Believability:
(out of 5)
1 Point: No Disbelief
1 Point: Well-Explained
1 Point: Characters Fit Conceivably
1 Point: Not Foolishly Omniscient
1 Point: OMGZ
With 2012 coming up, and all the concerns about it, I'd say that it isn't necessarily unbelievable. They have preparations going on worldwide, such as bunkers and such, in order to keep some people alive if disaster does hit in 2012. I don't think anything was necessarily outlandish.

Weight:
(out of 5)
1 Point: Relatable Lives
1 Point: Relatable Choices
1 Point: "Wow" Moments
1 Point: Lasting
1 Point: OMGZ
I wasn't left with anything important.

Visual:
(out of 5)
2 Points: Visual Quality
1 Point: Unique Visual Perspective
1 Point: Special Effects
1 Point: OMGZ
Special effects were well done, but there were far too many... or I guess not. I mean, the end of the world would have a lot of explosions, its just... ugh. Such a terrible movie.
