Ed Wood (1994), Tim Burton

Genre: Comedy, Drama
Overall Rating:
(out of 5)
This movie was, overall, very entertaining, a little bit sad, and very unique.  I think its definitely worth watching, but its not necessarily an all around amazing "I'll remember this forever" type film.

The Story:
(out of 5)
1 Point: Interesting
2 Points: Original
1 Point: Unpredictable
1 Point: OMGZ
We follow a wannabe director in his struggle to gain the attention of the higher ups, make a film, and be recognized for his talent.  Through this, we meet some unlikely characters and reveal some shocking yet hysterical secrets that are both real and unique.

Characters:
(out of 5)
1 Point: Well-Played
1 Point: Original
1 Point: Relatable
1 Point: Emotional Attachment
1 Point: OMGZ
Ed Wood (Johnny Depp): The wannabe director with a secret.
Bela Lugosi (Martin Landau): An old and acclaimed actor, recently divorced, who happily stars in Wood's films.
Dolores Fuller (Sarah Jessica Parker): Wood's girlfriend, who stands by his side and motivates him to get out there and direct.

Believability:
(out of 5)
1 Point: No Disbelief
1 Point: Well-Explained
1 Point: Characters Fit Conceivably
1 Point: Not Foolishly Omniscient
1 Point: OMGZ
This is based on a true story, so its obviously believable.  The ending, also, adds kind of a horrifying realistic touch.

Weight:
(out of 5)
1 Point: Relatable Lives
1 Point: Relatable Choices
1 Point: "Wow" Moments
1 Point: Lasting
1 Point: OMGZ
The ending brings along with it the reality of the situation, and can be related to a lot of our lives (sadly).  His choices and triumphs are very human; however, this film doesn't really carry with it anything lasting, just two hours of entertainment.

Visual:
(out of 5)
2 Points: Visual Quality
1 Point: Unique Visual Perspective
1 Point: Special Effects
1 Point: OMGZ
This movie was filmed in black and white, there weren't too many special effects, but it was well made visually.
